Team Hope

Are you interested in missions? Getting out into the community and helping people in need after a disaster, but are stopped because you don’t know where to go or what to do? We are here to help. PHUMC is working with the Florida Conference and UMCOR to provide disaster teams to assist the thousands of Floridians that still need assistance from Hurricane Irma.

Join Team Hope – A new Recovery Team from PHUMC that partners with The Florida Conference UMC to help restore hope to families in Florida that we impacted by Hurricane Irma in 2017. The team from PHUMC can be deployed to various locations with in Central Florida, Tampa Bay, Northeast and Collier. The goal of the Recovery team is to empower survivors in their recovery by helping to repair their properties that we damaged, yet not covered by FEMA or any insurance. How you can help: Join the team for one of their day recovery efforts, or on a quarterly bases. You can also step up to lead a recovery team! If you are interested in joining PHUMC’s next team effort, please contact Rose Bentley at 727-785-7487 ext. 2600 or .

Pack a Sack

“Pack-A-Sack” is a community outreach program designed to help address the problem of chronic hunger among elementary age children in our public schools. Through this program, PHUMC supports two local Title 1 elementary schools and provides enough food to sustain them over the weekend. Volunteers package the times in a bag, and deliver them on Fridays. Packing takes place every Thursday at 7 p.m. and all are welcome.
