So you’re looking to give your child the summer of his or her dreams. You’ve come to the right place!

Camp CUBBER offers one of the most exciting, fun-filled summers possible while creating an environment that is safe, family-friendly, and conducive to both growth and play. Camp CUBBER started as a summer camp of Stars & Comets –Before & After School Care Program in 1992. In 1996 when the church moved to Belcher Road the name Camp CUBBER was chosen and now operates as a church summer day camp.

Camp CUBBER is open during the summer when school is out. Each year, camp revolves around a new, exciting camp theme with each weekly unit relating to the summer theme. Campers may register for their choice of weeks – whether that’s just a few weeks or the entire summer.

Even though Camp CUBBER is the largest church summer day camp in the Tampa Bay area, we work hard to ensure that your child has the best and safest summer possible. This includes ensuring small group sizes (16 – 18) with groups divided by grade, and maintaining a low student/teacher ratio (1:18 max onsite, 1:9 offsite), all inside a great environment like Palm Harbor United Methodist Church.

Camp CUBBER operates daily from 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., with most camp activities from 9:10 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Extended care is offered before and after camp activities at no additional cost. Camp CUBBER is closed on Independence Day and the Friday before school reopens.

One of the highlights of camp is our time for the opening session.  At 9:10 or 9:40, campers go to the 30-minute gathering where they enjoy live praise and worship and kid’s songs with a full band. These hilarious skits follow the camp’s weekly theme, interactive games, Bible stories, prayer time, announcements, and perhaps even a surprise guest.

After the opening session, campers go with their age-appropriate groups to our separate activity rooms for 30 – 45-minute sessions. Some of these rooms include Art, Music, STEMS (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Social Studies), Creative Writing & Reading, Life Skills, Video / Drama, Computer Lab, Sports & Recreation, Arcade, Creative Play, and more. Classes offered vary by age group.  Campers can enjoy lunch brought from home or purchase it here on-site for an additional cost.  The camp also provides an afternoon snack.

Campers at Camp CUBBER will also take field trips to various fun, exciting, and often educational local attractions or enjoy a special onsite activity or guest three days a week!

The staff consists of Stars & Comets employees, college students, and school teachers or other childcare professionals out for summer. All staff and drivers have local and FDLE background checks and have worked with children for many years.

Additional information relating to tuition fees, financial policies, emergency/illness, code of conduct/discipline, dress code, field trips, weekly themes, and weekly activities are available in the registration packet on the Camp CUBBER website.
